SCSD1 eLearning FAQS

SCSD1 eLearning FAQS

How do I sign up for the eLearning option?

  • You will sign up during online registration (opens July 7th) and choose the eLearning option

Will eLearning offer the same classes?

  • Core classes will be available.  These may differ from the traditional classroom model depending on the grade level

Once I choose an option, can I change my mind?

  • A consistent learning atmosphere is best for student success.  We would like to see a student finish a semester before switching to a different learning option.  However, we understand that transitions will be required at times.  We will work with you on a case-by-case basis to create a plan for your child.

Will the eLearning option be identical to the distance learning we experienced during the last few months of school?

  • No.  There are requirements that will need to be followed

What are the requirements of the eLearning option?

Online learning requires a level of responsibility from you that can help you be successful, which includes:

  • Daily attendance will be required during school hours

  • Daily percentage completed per course

  • Weekly face-to-face virtual interactions with eLearning coach

  • eLearning Coach will have online office hours 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

  • Guardian email to receive weekly progress reports

  • Guardian coach readily available for communication via email/phone

  • Guardian will make sure the student is meeting all requirements

  • Being prepared and ready to learn before you start your online coursework

  • Staying on track by completing the assigned work every day

What if I do not finish a course?

  • Course completion is REQUIRED per semester

  • You will receive an “F” if a course is not completed per semester

  • If work is not being completed online a student may have to receive brick and mortar curriculum - this will be handled on a case by case basis
