Dear Mr. Goodin: On behalf of the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), I would like to congratulate you for your project being selected to receive a $500,000 grant award under the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) Grant and Loan Program for the fiscal year (FY) 2001 application period. Through FY 2001, the DLT program has funded 425 projects in 44 states and 4 U.S. territories totaling $117 million. Your proposal was among 87 that competed for $15 million in FY 2001 grant funding. Your efforts to provide rural America with the advanced telecommunications services needed to increase educational opportunities in the underserved rural areas of Indiana are truly admirable. RUS commends Scott County School District 1 for seeking the necessary financing that will assist this worthwhile project, and in turn, rural Indiana. Once again, congratulations for being selected as a FY 2001 DLT grant award recipient. In the near future, a letter will be sent to your organization enclosing the legal documents for your execution and subsequent draw of funds.
