Apple / Mac Environment:

We currently have Apple computers and servers throughout our Elementary School. We use our Apple computers for programs such as: E-class Grades, Accelerated Reader, Internet, etc. There are currently at least three Apple computers in every K-5 classroom.

Windows Environment:

Our High School Facility currently has seven servers running Windows 2000 Server and Windows 2000 Advanced Server. The High School Library consist of 27 PC's; which have access to various career and learning programs such as Coin, Plato, World Book, Jist, College Blue Book, Microsoft Office and more. Also, in the 2000-2001 school year we converted the High School Applications Lab from Apple computers to Windows 98SE machines. The Applications Lab includes software packages such as: MicroType Pro, Keyboarding Quick Check, and Microsoft Office 2000 Premium.

In 2000, our school was selected as one of twenty-two schools in Indiana to receive the 2000 High Tech School Grant. With this grant, we were given the opportunity to purchase three additional Windows 98SE machines for every Middle School and High School classroom. We now have approximately 225 windows 98SE computers in our Middle/High School facility.

In June 2001 we received news that we had been selected to receive a $500,000 grant award under the Distance Learning and Telemedicine (DLT) Grant and Loan Program. More information on this grant will be available soon.

In August 2001 we decided to purchase a computerized Point-of-Sale lunch line system. We decided to go with Horizon as our software and hardware vendor. Horizon provides a bar code scanner which scans the Student ID Cards, which we print, then brings up the students pictures on a touch screen monitor. The cashiers then simply "touch" the food items on the screen to deduct the correct amount of money out of each student "lunch" account.

In December 2001 we implemented our long awaited wireless labs. Our Middle and High School now has wireless access points installed and each building has sixteen Gateway Laptops that teachers may check out for their students to do research with. The Laptops have full access to our Local Area Network, Printers, and the Internet; with no wires attached.

In January 2002 we switched to Microsoft Exchange Server 2000 as our main e-mail server and took our Apple Share Mail Server Offline. The new server gives our teachers the ability to check their e-mail, notes, to-do list, and contacts from any computer in the school as well as from home.

In February 2002 we switched from our Microsoft Proxy Server 2.0 to SurfControls "CyberPatrol" for all of our Web Filtering.

On June 2nd, 2002 our shipment of new computers arrived, we are replacing the High School and the Middle School iMac Labs with P4 1.7GHz Windows 2000 Professional Machines. Each lab now has 32 new student computers and a teacher station hooked up to a projector. Both labs have Microsoft Office 2000 Premium, and Internet Access on all computers. The Middle School Computer Lab will also have Terrapin Logo, and Hyper Studio 4.0. As of June 2002 we have a total of around 340 Windows Computers in our Middle School/High School Facility.

July 21st, 2003 our long awaited Student Management System upgrade took place. We were using MacSchool and E-Class grades. We have replaced three Macintosh Servers and are now running Chancery SMS on a Dual P4 Windows 2000 Server. Our Elementary has completely switched over to SMS while the High School and Middle School are still using Mac School and E-Class grades. Their data is replicated to the new SMS server multiple times thoughout the day. We are waiting on the SMS update to make the switch at these two buildings.

On July 31st, 2003 we received twelve new P4 Computers for our sixth grade classrooms. These computers will have Internet Access, Network Access, Microsoft Office Suite, and more; these computers were made possible thru the Ed-Tech Grant.
