Austin Offers Dual Credit

The Austin/Crothersville Early College Program is an intensive two-year graduation track where students can earn up to 80 Dual Credits. Austin High School and Crothersville High School collaborates with both Columbus and Sellersburg Ivy Tech Community Colleges to align curriculum so that Early College students graduate with an Associate’s of Science in Liberal Arts degree, while also completing their high school requirements. Students who participate must be “on track” to graduate with at least a Core 40 Diploma, usually an Honors Diploma, and must meet Ivy Tech’s Accuplacer testing requirements in Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and Elementary Algebra. Students with qualifying PSAT scores are personally invited to participate, but Early College applications are available to any Austin or Crothersville High School students who wish to apply.

Dual Credit classes set students up on the right path to continue into college. Credit offerings and rewards have increased tremendously in recent years and we continue to grow.
