This time of year can become difficult as we oftentimes seem to be at the mercy of the weatherman. Our goal is to put the safety of our students and staff first. SCSD 1’s top priority is ensuring the health and safety of your children. With winter weather, we drive roads daily to assess conditions.
State roads, country roads, school lots, school sidewalks, blowing snow conditions, cold temperatures, and wind chill warnings all figure into a decision to go to school on time, delay or close. We know it is tough for working parents to arrange good supervision for their children on days we delay or close. We also know that dangerous conditions can occur, and you don't want your children out in those situations.
