Austin Recycling Guild
The Austin Recycling Guild! a small group of volunteer students and teachers who has handled all the recycling in AHS for over 22 years was awarded the Gold Award from SEIRD (Southeastern Indiana Recycling District) on Tuesday, May 12. Three school groups in SEIRD's 7-county district received the award for consistent and correct recycling and creating a recycled-content art project. Austin High School Class of 2021 Graduate Hailey Philpot published her first novel, The Thorns of Power.
She describes it as follows: The Thorns of Power is a clean young adult fantasy that explores themes of inner strength, healing, and resilience—written to be uplifting and appropriate for teen readers.
Pictured with Hailey is AHS senior Ally Wass, who has purchased a copy and is currently enjoying reading it.
Copies are available to be checked out in both the high school and middle libraries.
